JLS Outta this world but can't knock Progress

The much awaited album by JLS was released on CD last week but despite massive publicity and a big following,  the boy band with (or was it without?) the X-Factor couldn't knock the masters Take That off their pole position in the UK album chart.
It was a week of the boy bands with Westlife entering the chart at number 3.  Three guesses what all the teenage girls have got in their stockings this Christmas?

With the exception of Kings of Leon who climbed four places to number 8, the rest of last week's artists saw falls in their position. Don't feel too sorry for them thought - I doubt very much if that correlates to falling sales for their albums, with the bulk of Christmas shopping taking place in the first two weeks of December, the competition at the top of the charts is blistering at the moment.

The betting for the Christmas number one CD is also sizzling up, with Take That currently the clear favourite with odds at 4/9 for a Christmas number 1 with Progress and Michael Jackson at 5/2 over nearest rivals JLS at 7/1. Ladbrokes also describe Take That as 'unstoppable' in the pursuit to be the number one album this Christmas, offering odds today at 2/5.
