Kev wins review competition with Low Anthem CD

Thanks to Kev for his review of the Low Anthem CD - Oh My God Charlie Darwin, which is the second full length album from the trio from the States. The band, comprise of a full complement of real musicians; i.e. ones that can play several musical instruments and arrange their own songs. I have to admit that before reading Kev's review I had no knowledge of the band, but immediately played the sample tracks and it are absolutely cracking!

One of the lovely things about judging the Find CD review competition is the interesting array of flavours of music that we are able to share within our online community. I hope that on this occasion it does give a boost to the sales of the Low Anthems album because it really is as dynamic and versatile as Kev's review implies. From delicate folk ballads to a quirky alternative rock sound, the album appears to have something for everyone to enjoy.

Changes to the Find CD review competition.

In future we will be increasing the prize fund and judging the competition every three months. The prize for the best CD review will go up to £100 Amazon vouchers. The next judging will take place on 1st December – in time for you to use your award for Christmas gifts – or, of course, possibly a nice treat for yourself.

Remember that we need details of why you like the album, so that other readers get a general view of what type of music is on the CD and if it is likely to be to their taste. Often, it is the details of a review that encourages the reader to try the sample tracks, and this guides their purchasing decisions.
