Arcade Fire, Mumford and Sons, and Libertines line up with Guns at Leeds Festival

Chart toping Arcade Fire head the billing for this weekend's festival in Leeds supported by an amazing line up of bands which includes; Mercury Prize nominated Mumford and Sons just ahead of their tour of the states; newly reformed the Libertines, who this week performed live for the first time in five years; plus many more.

Arcade Fire's new album the Suburbs has been hanging around the top slot in the charts since its release on August 2nd 2010, and is the third album by the alternative rock band from Canada. The debut album from Mumford and Sons, which has been nominated as album of the Year for the 2010 Mercury Prize, (and in my opinion the best album to be released since Paulo Nutini's 'Sunny Side Up' in 2009) is a collection of alternative folk songs that will blow away any audience, whether you are familiar or not with the songs. Mumford and Sons have taken the festival scene by storm this summer and have indeed travelled a long way since I witnessed a very polished performance from this talented group of individuals in the spring at the tiny Newcastle student Union venue.

The Libertines, famous for more of the antics of Pete Doherty in the post band break up era, performed to a sell out and supportive audience in Kentish Town this week (including Amy Winehouse), as a warm up for this weekend's Leeds festival.  With the band being hailed as amazing by some and over rated by others, it will be interesting to see if there is an air of permanence about the performance, and if any signs of new material exist.

The main stage on Friday night includes performances from Dizzee Rascal (perhaps I should mention ear-plugs for the over 40's), the Cribs and the Mystery Jets. On the other stages, Pendulum and the Maccabees will be amongst the performances. Over the weekend will see some class acts, including 80's rock band Guns and Roses who headlline on Sunday, as well Biffy Clyro, Queens of the Stone Age, Limp Bizkit, The Klaxons and The New Young Pony Club.

To all you lucky folk who have tickets, have a great time – and for the rest of you, happy hunting for the albums here at Find CD, using our price comparison service. The studio performances are always more polished! No...We're not jealous about missing out on tickets at all... :(
