Reality TV stars Rhydian and Faryl fight it out for a Classical BRIT Award

Ten classical artists are currently battling it out for the coveted Classical BRIT Album of the Year award, X Factor runner up Rhydian, Britain's Got Talent contestant Faryl Smith and Gary Barlow's protégé Camilla Kerslake are currently in the running for the gong. Votes can be cast by registering on the Classical BRITs website and then selecting one of the nominees, voting closes at midnight on 23rd April 2010.

The event which takes place at London's Royal Albert Hall on 13th May will honour the achievements of classical artists and musicians over the last 12 months, with eight award categories ranging from Composer of the Year to Soundtrack of the Year. The nominations for these awards will be announced on Monday 12th April.

It has also been revealed that soprano Dame Kiri Te Kanawa will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award at this year's Classical BRITs, which is now entering its eleventh year. The evening will be hosted by Myleene Klass, with André Rieu, the London Chamber Orchestra and award winner Dame Kiri Te Kanawa set to perform.
