NME 2010 Awards Nominations announced
The nominations for the NME Shockwave Awards have been revealed and the Arctic Monkeys storm in front with six nominations, close on their tails are Leicestershire band Kasabian with five mentions. Both bands will be squaring up in categories for Best Live Band, Best Album, Giving It Back to Fans and Best Video.
It will be an all out battle in the Best British Band category with the Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Oasis, Muse and Biffy Clyro fighting it out for the coveted gong. Surprising Oasis have also been nominated for Best Live Event and Best Video, despite splitting up last September. The event takes place on 24th February in London at the Brixton Academy.
There are 26 categories, with five nominations in each ranging from Best British Band to Hottest Man and Best Album Artwork to Worst Dressed here's just some of the categories:
