'Everybody Hurts' to become Help for Haiti single

Since Simon Cowell announced that he's putting together a charity single in aid of the earthquake victims of Haiti, a whole host of stars have jumped at the chance to perform on the song, which will be a cover of the REM classic 'Everybody Hurts'.

It has been confirmed that X Factor winner Leona Lewis, Cheryl Cole, JLS, Michael Buble and Rod Stewart have signed up, whilst Robbie Williams, Take That, Sir Paul McCartney and Coldplay are currently in talks to appear.

REM have agreed to waive the royalties from the song and Prime Minister Gordon Brown, who first contacted Simon Cowell about putting the song together, will not collect VAT. The track is set to be released on Monday 8th February.

Over 100 film and music stars, including Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Rhianna, Coldplay and Wyclef Jean, will today perform at the Help For Haiti concert, which takes place in London, New York and Los Angeles.
