London 'Hope for Haiti' telethon concert

A plethora of superstars will perform in London tomorrow (Friday 22nd January), in aid of the Haiti earthquake appeal. Sting, Bono, Coldplay, Jay-Z, The Edge and Rihanna will all sing at the 'Hope for Haiti': A Global Benefit Earthquake Relief' London event, which will be broadcast across the world.

A number of film starts including Julia Roberts, Mel Gibson and Cameron Diaz will help operate the phone lines, in America, to take donations from those who want to help the cause.

Other cities around the globe will also host performances from artists lining up to support to the appeal, which aims to raise as much as possible for the people of Haiti.

The American capital, New York will see Haiti ambassador Wyclef Jean, Bruce Springsteen, Shakira, Jennifer Hudson and Mary J. Blige perform, whilst Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow, Christina Aguilera, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder and John Legend, to name just a few, will appear in Los Angeles. There will also be a news reporter live from Haiti.

The performances will be available to purchase from the iTunes store on Saturday 23rd January, with all proceeds being donated to the cause - visit iTunes. The event will be broadcast by MTV on Saturday, at 1am British time and on a number of other channels, such as VH1, throughout the day, it will also be streamed live to You Tube.
