Ke$ha knocks Susan Boyle off the top spot

After six weeks at the top of the American Billboard chart, Susan Boyle's album, I Dreamed A Dream has been pushed into second position by Ke$ha with her debut album, Animal.

22 year old Ke$ha (pronounced Kesha), first burst onto the music scene back in November with her debut single Tik Tok, which topped both the American and UK singles charts. Her number one album shifted over 150,000 copies in the US, in its first week of release, mainly through digital download.

Despite losing grip of the top spot, Susan Boyle's debut has become the fastest selling pre-sale album ever and has so far clocked up nearly 7 million record sales.
